Originally a typical 1950s two bedroom kit home, the clients’ brief was to add three bedrooms and create a warm low maintenance home which would allow them to continue with their busy professional lives. The design maximises privacy while opening up generous views across Dunedin City and Otago Harbour. Open plan living areas are designed to flow on to a generous entertaining deck which overlooks the urban landscape.
Designed using sustainable building principles the newly renovated home is warm, light and healthy – the perfect place to bring up a busy family within a stone’s throw of the CBD. The use of smooth plastered cladding with roof lines matching the existing slopes seamlessly marry the renovation with the original building, forming a modern town house.
